A message from the manager

Hello everyone, I'm Tracey. I just want to say a huge thank you for taking the time to read about Horizons Homecare and what makes us so different. We opened this office early in 2026 with a view to bring our high quality care into the Lancaster & Morecambe area after our own client families were requesting care from us, but it sat outside of our Blackpool branches remit. We are extremely dedicated to giving all of our clients the same carers that will arrive on time, every time and that they will even stay for the full duration. You don't pay for 5 minutes with us.

Common questions

What's the shortest visit you offer?
The shortest visit we currently offer is a 30-minute visit. This can be used to make food, to administer medications, to quickly clean, or for anything else you can think of. We cannot provide personal care in a 30 min visit.
Are there any extra charges?
There are no extra charges with Horizons Homecare. No admin fees, travel fees, complex fees, weekend rates, peak rates etc. You simply pay for the time you have.
How quickly can care start?
We aim to start care within a couple of days after one of our free care assessments.
Will my relative see the same carers?
Horizons Homecare ensures that all clients who receive our care will see the same carers. These are the carers that form an official part of your own care team.
Which areas do you cover?
We cover Aldcliffe, Bailrigg, Bolton-le-Sands, Carnforth, Caton, Ellel, Galgate, Halton, Hest Bank, Heysham, Morecambe, Scotforth and of course Lancaster.
Are your carers trained to give medication?
All carers undergo official Medication Administration training during induction training. Along with refresher training and further CPD training. Controlled drugs level 2 and Nursing delegated tasks are trained seperately for their own clients.
Can you support a hospital discharge?
Horizons Homecare support hospital discharges in the safest way. We liaise with you, family and discharge coordinators. We can assess your care needs within hospital, get clinical advice and use that to create a tailored care plan to assist you home.
What happens if a carer is off sick?
Sickness is normal part of life, and we understand that. Our systems have been designed over 10 years to ensure 'adequate safe staffing levels' and our evidence is that you will still see a regular carer in your team, and you will never miss a visit
Do you offer live-in or overnight care?
We offer a tailored live-in care service, which means that we recruit specificly for you and your needs. It means it can take longer to set-up, but it also means we can keep our recruitment standards high. We also provide overnight care.
Can we change or cancel visits?
Horizons Homecare operates a responsive service and we understand that needs change quickly. Simply call us and we will react to those changes with you. You can cancel and change visits as much as you want.
