The short version
- Your enquiry goes only to the providers named on screen before you send it. Nobody else receives it.
- Find-Care never sells your details and never passes them to anyone else for marketing.
- The optional tick box on the form is only about guidance emails from us. Leaving it unticked changes nothing about your enquiry.
- We keep an enquiry with your contact details on it for 3 years, then strip out what identifies you, and delete the rest at 6 years.
- To stop marketing email, or to ask for a copy of your details, email hello@find-care.co.uk.
On this page (7 sections)
1. What we ask for#
1.1 We ask for your name, telephone number and email address, and for the kind of care you are looking for, where you are looking, and how soon you need it.
1.2 We do not ask for medical details or a diagnosis, and you should not send them to us.
1.3 You can search this site and read any profile without giving us any details at all.
2. Who your enquiry goes to#
2.1 Your enquiry goes to the care providers named on screen before you send it. They are named so you can see who is about to receive your telephone number.
2.2 Those providers may contact you by telephone or email about your enquiry.
2.3 Providers pay Find-Care an introduction fee for qualifying enquiries. That is how the site is free to families, and it is why we keep a record of the enquiries we pass on.
2.4 Nobody else receives your enquiry. Paying us more does not get a provider more enquiries than the ranking already gives them.
3. What we never do#
3.1 We never sell your details.
3.2 We never pass your details to anyone else for their own marketing.
3.3 We do not use your enquiry to decide where a provider appears in search results. How providers are ranked is set out in how we rank and vet.
4. The optional marketing box#
4.1 The enquiry form has one optional tick box, asking whether Find-Care may email you guidance about arranging care.
4.2 It is unticked unless you tick it, and leaving it unticked has no effect on your enquiry or on how providers respond to you.
4.3 It covers email from Find-Care only. It does not give any provider permission to market to you, and it is not a subscription to anything a provider sends.
4.4 You can withdraw it at any time. Section 6 says how.
5. How long we keep it#
5.1 We keep your enquiry with your contact details on it for 3 years.
5.2 After 3 years we strip out what identifies you. Your name is deleted, your telephone number is reduced to its last three digits, and your email address is reduced to its first letter and the part after the @. What is left is a record that an introduction was made on a date, which is enough to answer a dispute about a charge and not enough to contact you.
5.3 At 6 years the last of that is deleted.
5.4 Invoices and billing records are kept for 6 years, because HMRC requires business records to be kept that long. Those records are about the provider we charged, not about you.
6. Changing your mind#
6.1 To stop marketing email, email hello@find-care.co.uk and say so. You do not need to give a reason.
6.2 To ask for a copy of the details we hold about you, or to have them corrected or deleted, email the same address. Your rights, and what we have to do about them, are set out in the privacy policy.
6.3 Stopping marketing email does not withdraw an enquiry you have already sent. A provider who already has your details still has them, and you can ask them directly to delete them.
